The Wildfowl Carving Championship 60/40 Auction Divisions require the entrant be a US resident, due to the high cost of shipping and insurance outside the US. The entrant agrees to donate the entry for the WCC Auction Divisions, to be sold at auction using the Virtual Championships Auction platform.

The entry does not have to be carved by the entrant, it can be from your collection of wildfowl carvings, if it meets the 60/40 division criteria as described below. If not carved by the entrant, the entrant must declare any entries not carved by themselves, and include the carver’s name and date carved (if known). Carver’s name should be included in the entry Title and Description when creating the entry for the public to see.
All entries in the 60/40 Auction Divisions will be judged according to the highest bid at auction and ribbons will be awarded once the auction has ended.
There will be a $100 (USD) minimum bid all auction items, and a $5000 (USD) maximum bid. If there are no bids on an auction item, the entrant will retain ownership of the auction item.
Photos and descriptions used for your entry in the auction divisions will be used as the auction photos. Be sure and add the carver’s name and year carved (if known) in the entry Title, Entry Description. All auction items will be shipped via USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate box. Only US BUYERS may bid on the Auction entries.
60% of the closing auction price will be paid to the carver (less any fees not paid by buyer), and 40% will be retained by Wildfowl Carving Championships to be used toward website development, software development, server and maintenance, as well as advertising and marketing.
Carvers will be expected to have their entries in the auction divisions, ready to ship to the buyer as soon as the auction ends.
Escrow.com will be used complete the transaction. This means, when the auction ends, the buyer sends their payment to Escrow.com. Escrow.com notifies you the funds have been received, at which time, you ship the package to the buyer. The buyer receives the package and has 48 hours to inspect their purchase. If satisfied, the buyer notifies Escrow.com and the funds are released to you. Transaction limitation is $5000, therefore enter appropriately. If your entry is valued at more than $5000, we won’t be able to sell it auction for more than $5k. There will be a minimum bid of $100 for each auction item. Therefore, you will want to enter accordingly.
The 60/40 Auction divisions, Decorative Head, Decorative Feather, Palm Frond, Cocktail Bird, and Decorative Pin, purposely small to make items affordable, and easy to ship safely and inexpensively. There will be a flat fee of $25 charged for shipping of any sold auction item. You will be required to use the United States Postal Service (USPS) to ship your item Priority Mail in a free, USPS provided Flat Rate Box. They come in five sizes. Therefore, it will be important to keep your entry small enough to be packed sufficiently and shipped in one of these USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate boxes as listed below.

Seller will pay the flat USPS shipping fee and insurance equal to the final auction price of the item sold. The seller will receive $25 flat fee paid by the buyer for shipping and insurance as reimbursement, with the 60% of the selling price in a final payment (less any Escrow.com fees, not paid by the buyer). The size of the selected USPS Priority Flat Rate Box will determine the flat rate cost of shipping within the US, (it will be less than the $25 received from buyer). When you’re your item has been shipped you will provide the tracking number to Escrow.com and to Wildfowl Carving Championships.
List of US Possessions, Territories, and Freely Associated States that are considered domestic for flat rate fees using USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate Boxes. In other words, if a competitor or buyer lives in any US State, US Possessions, Territories or Freely Associated States, they will be eligible for competing in the Auction Divisions, and eligible to bid on the Auction items.
